Live By The Sword, Die By The Sword

Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and no murderer has eternal life remaining in him

Don't Be Shocked If You Die By The Sword

We use real, digital, or pseudo swords daily. We disguise them as guns, fists, a pen, or lethal keyboard rhetoric.

If the vibes you generate are angry rhetorical vitriol, or maybe guns, fists, casting spells, or whatever, it's most likely that's the way you'll die.

Yahusha (a.k.a. Jesus) was getting arrested after the Judas kiss betrayal. Surrounded by Roman soldiers, chief priests and elders, Peter drew his sword and sliced one of their ears off. And of course, Yahusha healed his ear. I'd expect nothing less.

What stands out to me is what was said next:

Then said YAHUSHA unto him, Put up again your sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Mattiyahu 26:52

By all means, disagree with all in politics, religion, or other things. That's how we learn. How we grow. But try to keep the schism in perspective; its not a big deal. Your family and love is top priority. Everything else is just noise.

Political foes are only foes on paper (or digital). When the screen is off, we remain, spiritually linked by the breathe of Yahuah. That first breath we take, is a gift we have in common.

If you spew hate and violence all day, guess what, you'll attract it. And there's usually a bigger crazy nut job that'll yield their sword faster than you. You're going to get attacked in life that's for sure.

Attacks get ugly and make one feel terrible. Remember that your self worth is measured not by how others treat you. It's measured by your very existence. You were loved enough to be created with individual thoughts, opinions, emotions, with all the complexity of you.

An apothecarial mix of prayer, good vibes, in state of giving to others keeps spiritual balance. It helps remove the emotion that breeds the regret of overreaction.

When emotion clouds judgment, you're screwed. Remove emotion and make sound decisions with a clear head.

But back to the point of this blog. Avoid dying a sad, miserable, god forsaken death by

  1. Follow the "Ten Commandments" (more on it here)
  2. Love your neighbor as yourself. You feed, groom, and take care of yourself.
  3. Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you
  4. Don't judge others
  5. Be chill. Sometimes you need to keep your mouth shut and walk away
  6. Let others speak and listen instead of strategizing a response
  7. Never hurt another person emotionally or physically
  8. Protect the helpless. Defending yourself but don't be the aggressor
  9. Give. Give of your time, attention, money, etc... It is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). If you're giving to others, that means you have stuff to give.

The next time a political foe attacks you, just remember to "love your enemy as yourself."
